Home Our Services

We’re skilled at breeding methodologies and fast-tracking improvements to markets.

We are expert in plant and animal breeding, genetic improvement, adaptation, purification, commercialisation and release strategies.  You may need a plant breeding task completed, a trait adjusted, advice on utilisation of genetics in a new and challenging environment, we can help.
We have an in-house qualified person for Plant Breeders’ Rights protection and can advise on optimisation of Trade Mark protection.
We are skilled at matching specific quality needs of food or feed manufacturers with varieties and growing locations. We’re calling that ‘Provenance’, that’s a little broader in application than ‘terroir’ as we’re interested in improving and optimising varieties and production methods, not just holding them static.

Our Areas of Expertise

Plant and Animal Husbandry

We can advise on identity preservation systems to prove the social, environmental and quality credentials.

  • Australian Cashmere Credentials to demonstrate responsible production methodologies and gain market access.
  • Planting window in soybean to maximise farming system benefits.

Adaptation

Varieties and breeds that work in into existing environments, overcoming or avoiding challenges and maximising productivity and marketability.

  • Soybean varieties that take advantage of maturation environments to deliver special quality for human consumption
  • Leucaena with fast establishment for carbon projects or livestock feed
  • Cashmere goats that thrive in dry environments to deliver outstanding quality fibre.

Purification

We are skilled at improving the purity of existing and new varieties and breeds through observation, selection techniques and DNA fingerprinting.

  • Taking existing varieties and make them pure and programs to maintain purity
  • Protect the varietal integrity by DNA fingerprinting

Environment

Improving stewardship and productivity of the lands on which we work though better crop, pasture and animal management.

  • Protecting our rangelands through improved custodianship
  • Carbon capture and sequestration strategies
  • Agronomy to maximise yield, quality and sustainability
  • Processing strategies to assist environment and human integrity

Release Strategies

Ways to generate and take advantage of the innate attributes of the land, plants, animals, environments, food, feed, processing, markets and marketing to maximise advantage of provenance.

  • Intellectual property protection
  • Utilisation of improved qualities
